Why people struggle to be content

Why do so many people hate what they do and how did they get there?

The really awesome thing is we live in a country where we can be anything we want to be, we are so blessed to have the freedom we have been given.  The problem is we all live in such a fast paced society sometimes we don't even have time to slow down and think long enough to know we are not content.  When we are in our teens and 20's we think we have plenty of time to figure it out.  Then, before we know it we are in our late 30's or 40's or even 50's and look back and say, "where did the time go and what did I accomplish?"  Sometimes we say I did xyz and I am happy, but more often we say, "I wish I would have done this or that."

The common misconception we have is that we think once we are older we are stuck and that we are just too old to change what we do so we stay in the same old place until we get to retirement.  Of course that's providing we still have a retirement.  We also get stuck in a rut that it's too late to see our dreams come true.  We believe in the lie that our time has come and gone.

The reason I say this is because I am 52 years old and I have lived a life as a window installer.  I owned my own business but I truly never thought I would be anything more than that.  I never went to college because I did not think I needed to further my education.  Years later I realized my body could not take it anymore and I had to make a change before I ended up like my Dad, who's body is beat down from doing the same kind of work until he was 65 years old.  I knew I did not want that for myself.  Don't get me wrong, I have had a very prosperous life at times, but there were other times during my life that I lost it all due to the economy.

When the stress and unfulfillment became too much, I began to pray for new direction and for God to help me find my purpose.  After months of praying and wondering what was in store for me next, I saw a Facebook post that would eventually change my life.  As I checked out this new opportunity I spent about 3 months researching and trying the product before I pulled the plug.  I ultimately made the decision to go from a blue collar worker to having my own home based business.  Now that I am 9 months into my new home based business and I don't have to worry about layoffs, punching a clock, sitting in traffic day in and day out and I feel fantastic.  I love what I do and I can be my own boss, set my own hours, go on vacation when I want to and not have to help someone else get rich.

My encouragement to you today is that there is a BETTER way.  You too can discover what God has in store for your life and begin to pray about it.  If you feel like God is saying to make a change then it's time to start looking.  I would love to share with you what I have learned in my venture and even provide some insight to anyone who is looking to make that transition.  Or maybe you just want to earn some extra income and stay where you are.   Either way, reach out to me and let me help you make 2016 the year you make YOUR dreams come true!
